أكد الرئيس الرواندي، بول كاغامي، على أن بلاده لم تتسبب في حرب جمهورية الكونغو الديموقراطية، نافيا بذلك كل الاتهامات التي تشير إلى تورط رواندا في دعم حركة إم-23.

وقال كاغامي في كلمته خلال جلسة الحوار الوطني، إن “الحرب في الكونغو لم تأت من رواندا، يقولون إننا في الكونغو للعثور على الحجارة”.

وأشار إلى أن بلاده لو كان لها دور في الحرب من أجل الحصول على المعاد لكانت أغنى بكثير”، مضيفا: “لو كنا في الكونغو من أجل المعادن، لأصبحنا أثرياء مائة مرة عما نحن عليه الآن”.

وانعقد اليوم الخميس، في مركز كيغالي للمؤتمرات، الاجتماع الوطني العشرين، وعُقد أول اجتماع من هذا القبيل في عام 2003 في البرلمان.

وذكر الرئيس الرواندي، بول كاغامي، أن الروانديين والبورونديين يطلقون على أنفسهم اسم توأمان، لكن بوروندي رفضت ذلك.

وبيّن أن “”الروانديين والبورونديين يطلقون على أنفسهم اسم توأمان، لكن البورونديين قرروا أننا لسنا توأمان بل إنهم توأمان مع الكونغو”.
