The Ethiopian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hadera Abera, said that he was honored to meet with Nir Barkat, the Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry, where ways to enhance trade and investment relations between Ethiopia and Israel were discussed.
Abera explained in his post on X that the discussions dealt with aligning Israeli investments with priority sectors in Ethiopia, expanding the volume of bilateral trade, in addition to enhancing the prospects for joint economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister of State welcomed Israel's decision to open a commercial representative office in the capital, Addis Ababa, during August 2026, considering the step an important impetus for developing the economic partnership between the two sides.
