The Director of the Sudanese Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Muhammad Ibrahim Mufaddal, concluded a series of extensive meetings in the American capital, Washington, and New York City, which included meetings with American security officials and diplomats, according to what diplomatic sources reported.

According to the sources, the talks dealt with regional security files and the internal challenges facing Sudan, in addition to discussing ways to rebuild confidence between Khartoum and Washington and opening new channels of cooperation in the fields of intelligence and technical support.

This visit comes at a time when Sudan is facing complex political and security crises, and observers view it as a first step towards reintegrating Khartoum into the international diplomatic scene and enhancing cooperation with the United States in facing common challenges in the Horn of Africa and the Sahel region.
