The Malian government has launched a new strategic project to enhance electricity supply in the capital, Bamako, in light of the continuing rise in demand for energy. The project, which costs 36 billion CFA francs, is financed by the Islamic Development Bank, and includes the implementation of the 225 kilovolt Northern Loop project, one of the most important electrical infrastructure projects in the country.

The project aims to: strengthen the electricity transmission and distribution network, improve the reliability and stability of the electrical supply, and ensure a sustainable supply of energy to the capital, Bamako. This step is a qualitative leap in the process of modernizing the energy system in Mali, and contributes to supporting economic development and improving basic services for the residents of the capital.
