The Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs today held a meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Gu Haiyan, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Kenya, to review the status of the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries and follow up on the progress made in implementing the outcomes of President William Ruto's state visit to Beijing last year.
During the meeting, the Kenyan side reaffirmed its commitment to international law in accordance with the United Nations Charter, and reaffirmed its adherence to the one-China policy, in light of the challenges and dangers witnessed by the current global order.
Dr. Uma Oloja, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Medical Services, participated in the meeting, where the two parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the health sector, including:
- Medical technology transfer.
- Strengthening national health systems.
- Expanding areas of medical cooperation between Kenya and China.
- This meeting reflects Kenya and China's keenness to deepen the strategic partnership, not only in the political and diplomatic field, but also in the health and development sector, which contributes to building a prosperous future based on international cooperation between the two countries.
