His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Salam Abdi Ali, held a bilateral meeting on Saturday evening in the city of Jeddah with his Tunisian counterpart, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Muhammad Ali Al-Nafti, on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, dedicated to discussing developments in the situation in the Federal Republic of Somalia.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the latest developments related to Israel’s illegal recognition of the so-called “Somaliland” in the northwestern region of the country, affirming their categorical rejection of any measures that would affect Somalia’s unity and national sovereignty.

The two sides stressed the importance of adhering to international law and supporting all efforts aimed at strengthening national cohesion and ensuring stability in Somalia, in a way that preserves its security and territorial integrity.

This meeting comes within the framework of joint Arab and Islamic coordination to confront the challenges that threaten the unity of Somalia, and to emphasize the collective position rejecting any attempts to undermine its sovereignty.
