The Moroccan national team reached the final match in the African Nations Championship, hosted by the Kingdom, after defeating the Nigerian national team on penalty kicks 4-2.
As part of the semi-finals of the 2025 African Cup of Nations, Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat hosted the opponents’ match in the presence of a large audience.
The two teams decided in extra time, after a goalless draw in both halves of the match.
The penalty shootout smiled at the Moroccan team after it scored 4 kicks, while the Nigerian players missed two kicks, thus clinching the Atlas Lions' qualification ticket for the final match, and setting a date in the final with Senegal, which beat the Egyptian team 1-0.
