The Chadian government accused armed elements of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces of launching an attack inside the Chadian border, illegally incursions, and causing deaths, after they targeted the defense and security forces and civilians in the east of the country.
Chad confirmed in a statement in Arabic and French, published by the New N'Djamena newspaper, that the attack resulted in the killing of seven Chadian soldiers and the injury of others, describing this behavior as a blatant violation of the state's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It also stressed that it has remained neutral since the outbreak of the conflict in Sudan in 2023, and will not allow the conflict to expand on its territory.

In turn, the government spokesman indicated that Chadian forces have strengthened their deployment on the eastern border, to prevent the recurrence of such violations, calling on the international community to intervene to prevent escalation.
These developments come in light of the continuing Sudanese internal war, as some armed factions, led by the Rapid Support Forces, use cross-border movements as part of their struggle with their opponents inside Sudan, which further worsens the security situation in the Sahel and Sahara countries.
