Liberian President, Joseph Nyumba Boakai, stressed that infrastructure development represents an important element and an absolute necessity for the country's renaissance.

During the opening of the National Infrastructure Conference, he called on all Liberians to prioritize the development of high-quality and sustainable infrastructure, describing it as the essential pillar of the country’s prosperity and inclusive growth.

The President emphasized that modern projects must meet international standards, be resilient to climate change, while creating local job opportunities and stimulating private activity, stressing that strong infrastructure ensures Liberia's ability to compete globally and contributes to building an interconnected society in which no one is left behind.

The President pointed to the clear deterioration in national assets as a result of years of civil conflict, stressing that rebuilding roads, bridges and public facilities represents more than concrete and steel structures, but rather a network of life that creates opportunities and enhances national confidence.

He added that this initiative is in line with the current administration's ARREST agenda, the Africa Agenda 2063, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, calling for a move from temporary solutions to coordinated systems based on technology and innovation to serve current and future generations.

President Boakai concluded his speech by emphasizing that the government will make infrastructure the centerpiece of the national recovery, to ensure that the dignity of all Liberians is protected and the country is stabilized in the long term.
