Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today in Davos with Borge Brandet, Executive Director of the World Economic Forum.

The official spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency explained that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role played by the World Economic Forum as a high-level international platform for dialogue and exchange of visions between leaders of countries, international officials, representatives of the private sector and major international companies, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation in confronting global challenges and supporting comprehensive development paths.

The President also praised the focus of the forum's agenda this year on pressing issues, which reflects the growing need to deepen international cooperation to keep pace with rapid transformations and achieve prosperity and interest for all peoples of the world.

For his part, Brandet expressed his appreciation for President Sisi and his participation in the forum’s work this year, noting the forum’s management’s keenness to allocate a special session to Egypt within its activities, to present the Egyptian vision in dealing with the challenges of the Middle East region and efforts to restore regional peace and security. He also appreciated the efforts of Egypt, and the President personally, in establishing regional stability.

The CEO of the Forum affirmed his aspiration to continue coordination and cooperation with the Egyptian government in various fields, in support of the path of economic development, increasing growth rates, and strengthening the state’s efforts to attract investments, in light of the attractive opportunities provided by the Egyptian market.
