The President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, held a number of meetings and discussions during the World Government Summit, which opened today, Tuesday, in Dubai, UAE.

He wrote on the X platform: “This morning I attended the opening ceremony of this year’s World Government Summit in Dubai, along with other heads of state, private sector leaders, and representatives of governments and international organizations.”

Maada Bio also held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, noting that the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the summit, discussed “ways to deepen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.”

He stressed that this summit provides a platform to exchange Sierra Leone's experiences and promote Africa as a center for global investment and innovation.

Earlier, the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, announced the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE, which enhances cooperation in vital sectors between Sierra Leone and the UAE.

It was, on the sidelines of the 2026 World Government Summit, that Maada Bio held a conversation with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
