The Sudan Doctors Network announced that the death toll as a result of attacks by the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, north of the Al-Hilu faction, on a number of neighborhoods in the city of Kadugli in South Kordofan state has risen to more than 15 civilian deaths, including 7 children.
The network explained that the attacks continued until the evening hours and included bombing that targeted populated residential areas.
The Sudan Doctors Network team stated that seven civilians were killed in the Kadugli neighborhood in Kashmir alone as a result of direct bombardment, while attacks continued on other neighborhoods, resulting in more casualties among defenseless civilians, including children. The network indicated that these attacks also caused a state of panic and displacement among the population.
The Sudan Doctors Network condemned what it described as serious violations of international humanitarian law, stressing that targeting residential neighborhoods, civilian gathering places, and medical facilities represents a clear violation of all international laws and norms.
She stressed that these attacks undermine efforts to protect civilians and keep them away from the conflict.
The network called on the international community to take immediate and decisive measures to stop what it described as the deliberate targeting of civilians through long-range attacks and systematic bombing. It also called for greater pressure to be placed on the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement North, the Al-Hilu faction, to stop the systematic killing and protect civilians in conflict areas.
